Lanolin is the oil secreted in the wool of sheep. It has been used for centuries as a non-toxic lubricant and a way to prevent rusting. It is the key ingredient in our products.

Yes, once dry our products form a natural coating that is not harmful to animals or the environment and so can be used on boats and fishing equipment. 

Our grease is 100% natural and renewable. The spray does contain a hydro-carbon solvent which evaporates when applied to leave a waterproof coating made up from natural products.

Whilst it can be sprayed on existing rust, we recommend removing the loose surface rust with a wire brush before applying the spray or grease.  Best results are achieved when applying Lanocare onto clean, dry, metal surfaces.  

Both the spray and grease are primarily designed to prevent rust and decay.  The choice between the two will depend on what you’re using the product for.

For large surface areas requiring general protection, we’d normally recommend the spray.  If you looking for long term protection of specific key elements such as nut and bolt heads or have parts particularly at risk, then the grease is an excellent solution.

Applying Lanocare could not be easier. Just follow the following steps.

1. Heavily corroded areas need to be cleaned with a wire brush to remove any loose debris. Lightly corroded areas can be cleaned with a jet washer.
2. Once dry, simply spray the area with a thin coating of Lanocare.
3. For hard to reach areas, Lanocare can be sprayed to a cloth which can be used to get into all the nooks and crannies!
4. Any overspray should be wiped up with a clean cloth 
5. Within 24 hours it will dry to form a subtle waxy finish

Again applying Lanocare grease is straight forward:

1. Prepare the surface in the same way as you would for the Lanocare spray
2. Lanocare grease can be applied using a finger. It will soften quickly on your finger and can be applied direct onto bolts and other such items that need enhanced protection
3. If need to apply Lanocare grease to a number of areas, you can soften the entire tub of grease either on a radiator or in a pan of warm water. The grease can then be applied either with a finger or a rag.
4. Lanocare grease can also be fully melted in a pan of hot water and then painted directly onto any surface that needs to be protected from the harshest of the environments.   

Our Lanocare products are long-lasting but it all depends on the application you’re using it for.

For example, if you use the anti-corrosion oil spray on a car chassis, it can protect the metal for up to a year. The grease when applied to static items such as nuts and other fixings will last much longer. If you’re using the grease on parts which are subject to some movement, then the grease will need to be applied more regularly

No! The Lanolin in our products is naturally tacky and will adhere to any surface they are applied. Lanocare products won’t come off even if you use a pressure washer running at 3,000psi.
